Deep Hydrophobic Protection for Mineral Surfaces

Komsol HYPRO provides advanced, invisible protection against water ingress, staining and moisture-related deterioration on mineral substrates.

The treatment penetrates deeply into the substrate and forms a hydrophobic structure within the pore system. This significantly reduces capillary water absorption and effectively prevents liquid water from entering the material, while still allowing water vapour to diffuse out.

By limiting water ingress, Komsol HYPRO reduces the transport of waterborne contaminants such as salts, chlorides and pollutants, which are key drivers of deterioration in mineral materials.

The result is a breathable but highly water-repellent system that protects the substrate against rain, spill penetration and moisture-driven degradation mechanisms such as freeze-thaw damage, efflorescence and surface staining.

The treatment contributes to extended service life while preserving the natural appearance, colour and texture of the substrate without forming a surface film.
